For the first volume of our materials series we have focused on metal, and specifically metal with resonant properties.

All the instruments in the library are made from the sounds of metal bowls and containers being struck, brushed and rubbed with a variety of objects.

The sounds captured are mysterious, evocative and full of beautiful overtones.

Available in Kontakt, Reason Refill or .wav formats. All formats are supplied at 24 bit / 48khz.

Kontakt version contains:

• 13 instrument patches, ranging from mysterious pads to resonant bell like sounds.
• 40 single hits, including muted and unmuted talking drum style sounds.
• Patch with the single hits mapped across the keyboard.

Reason Refill contains:

• 13 NN-XT patches, from gamelan type tones to scraped bowls.

• All the WAV files used to make the instruments, over 200 audio files.

We’ve been working late into the night to bring you our first Kontakt library and we’ve made sure that it uses Kontakt’s effects, modulators and script programming to their full potential.

All of our Kontakt libraries will include custom Performance Views to let you get straight to tweaking the most important controls and lots of lovely modulation wheel automation.

In that spirit, we’ve created a library solely from errors. Some of them completely accidental, some where we just looked the other way whilst the accident happened. But all of them stem from a willful ignorance of instruction manuals and correct operating procedures.

Home movie soundtracks mangled with the wrong converters, musical toys tortured into revealing hidden sonic secrets and computer hard drives dying noisily, all of the sounds in this library started out life as errors.

Some of them have been further treated with a mixture of carefully applied computer processing and traditional studio techniques, some left as nature (never) intended.

Available in Kontakt, Reason Refill or .wav / REX2 formats. All formats are supplied at 24 bit / 48khz.

Reason Refill contains:

• 30 NN-XT sampler patches, ranging from massive pads to sub-shaking percussion.
• 14 Combinator instruments, all with performance controls and extensive processing.
• 200+ single hits, from tweeter shredding glitches to low end rumbles.

• 46 REX2 loops, from percussion to circuit bent transmissions.

Kontakt version contains:

Welcome to Tone Manufacture.

Tone Manufacture is run by composers and sound designers, and we’ve bought a lot of sample libraries over the years.

One thing we’ve noticed with some sample libraries is that they’re full of the same old sounds, that we all already have somewhere on our hard drives gathering dust.

So when we started Tone Manufacture, we decided to only make sounds that we thought were inspiring and distinctive, and release and organise them in a way that made it easy for composers and sound designers to get straight to the business of being creative.

We’ll be releasing new libraries all the time, with a range of different prices and levels of content, so we’re sure there will always be something to get excited about.
